Sophie RealeSophie Reale has always loved the phrase, “She believed she could so she did”. She knows that girls have the power to do anything in this world, it is only a matter of believing in their potential and using it to fight for what they want. The opportunities are limitless, and she says that it’s up to us to take advantage of everything life hands us. This is why it is so important for her to be involved in a program like Ms President US, where she can help young girls grow to be strong, fearless leaders in the community.
A junior at Ridgefield High school, Sophie excels in all areas, yet math has been her calling from a young age. She loves finding the solution to different problems and understanding how different concepts can be applied to everyday life. She is an eager learner in and out of the classroom, seeking knowledge in whatever way she can. She always works hard to achieve her goals, as she knows that if she puts her mind to something, nothing can stop her. Outside of school, Sophie enjoys volunteering throughout the community. A member of National Charity League since 6th grade, some of her favorite philanthropies include SPHERE and the Ridgefield Thrift Shop. She gets involved any way she can, devoting much of her free time to tutoring, working with children, and various other organizations around town. Younglife, a youth group in town, takes up a majority of Sophie’s time. She feels most at home in this community, and the friends that she has made through the group are some of her closest allies today. A good part of her volunteering is administered through Younglife, as she feels that it is her duty to give back to a community which has given her so much. Sophie is also a bold leader in Wyldlife, the middle school group of Younglife. She spends time throughout the year getting to know kids and being a guide in their lives. When not in school, volunteering, or at a Younglife event, Sophie can be found running. A member of the RHS track team, she loves the feeling of a good workout after a long, stressful day. Her primary event is the pole vault, which she discovered her freshman year. She has a great time with the other girls on the team, and is glad to say that she has made many memories through her time with them. Sophie looks forward to her time with Ms President US and hopes to build strong relationships with other girls in her community. |
