Savona BocchinoSavona Bocchino is a senior at Wilton High School and the Vice President of the Lower Fairfield County Chapter who cares a lot about motivating others to get their voices heard and advocating for the environment & sustainability. This is her second year being a mentor for Ms President US, and she is enthusiastic to continue with the program.
Savona leads the WHS Green Team, promoting sustainability within the school. As a strong advocate for sustainable fashion, Savona founded the first Wilton High School Thrift Store providing students and staff with a platform to buy and donate secondhand clothing while promoting eco-friendly practices within the school community. She received the Green Student Award from Wilton Go Green for her determination and dedication to sustainable fashion. She is passionate about working with the community to find ways to be more sustainable and spoke on a Sustainability in Fashion panel hosted by Wilton Go Green and also spearheaded a sneaker collection drive to recycle and repurpose sneakers, reducing the impact to the environment. Savona runs her own Poshmark account and is also a sales associate for Wildbloom Skincare, a sustainable skincare company. Additionally, Savona is a Link Leader, guiding incoming freshmen with their transition to high school and also an active member of the Spanish Honor Society. Outside of school, Savona is a coxswain for Norwalk River Rowing and shares her passion for rowing with all ages, helping to coach and inspire others in the sport. |
