Laura JeniskiLaura Jeniski is a senior at Ridgefield High School. She is a first year mentor who looks forward to empowering younger girls to take on leadership positions as well as boost their confidence
Laura is a national honor scholar at Ridgefield Highschool. Her favorite subjects include Science Research and Biology. In Science Research, Laura and her research partner are currently studying the evolution of people pleasing from wolves to dogs at Danbury Animal Welfare Society and the Wolf Conservation Center. Outside of school, Laura pursues her interest in biology through her work as an aide at Ridgefield Physical Therapy. In the future, Laura hopes to become a biomedical engineer. Not only is Laura academically studious, she is actively involved as the Vice President of Rights and Responsibilities on the Executive Student Government Board. Her favorite event is organizing the Holiday Boutique at Scott’s Ridge Middle School. She also enjoys her time as the only student in the Curriculum Committee in the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Laura serves the community in her volunteer work at Regional Hospice Center as a companion. In Ridgefield, she is in Lion’s Heart and earned the Presidential Service Award last year. On a more global scale, Laura housed an exchange student from Argentina last year for two weeks. When not in school, student government, or volunteering, Laura enjoys travelling the world with her family. Having travelled outside the country many times, her favorite place to travel is Sorrento, Italy because of the gelato and beautiful scenery. In the summer, Laura visits her hometown Charlotte, North Carolina to reconnect with friends. Laura looks forward to working with younger girls to help them achieve their goals. |
