Kyela McGuire campaigned on a “Zero Waste” platform and plans on continuing the push to make Ridgefield more environmentally accountable.

As Ms President US Ridgefield, Kyela has announced the start of the Run Like a Mother 5k Race, marched alongside elected officials in the Memorial Day Parade, spoken at the 9/11 Memorial at the Rec Center, spoken at the Veterans Day event at Lounsbury House, and served on a panel at the most recent Ms President US session.

“On Election Day, Middlebrook student Savannah Joseph, who earlier this year was elected the first Ms President US Wilton, stopped by to chat. Savannah Joseph ran on a “Plastic Pollution” platform, and plans on working closely with Wilton’s First Selectwoman to advance her ideas.

Kylie Macancela’s platform on “Internet Safety” earned her the title of Ms President US Danbury. Good work, Kylie! Thank you for representing Danbury with such grace.

“Transportation Access” is an issue close to Gopika Sheth’s heart, her father’s commute would be significantly reduced with the availability of mass transportation. Her platform spoke of the environmental and societal benefits of increasing public transportation. She is the 2019 Ms President US Hamden.

“It was amazing going to the Capitol and receiving an official citation!” said Juliette Arencibia, Ms President US Ridgefield Middle School, who won with her “Venezuela’s Malnutrition Crisis” campaign.

The winners from Ridgefield, Wilton, Danbury, Hamden, and New Castle were invited to the Capitol to meet with their state representatives and state senators.
